The Ythan Fiddlers, formed in 1985, and this recording celebrates our 21st year. The 21 years have seen the society grow and change direction and we are now a registered charitable organisation whose aim is to promote traditional Scottish music to the young, whilst raising funds for local charitable causes. We are regularly found performing around the North East of Scotland supporting, Festivals, Old Folks organizations, and charitable events. The music on this CD was performed live at our annual fiddlers rally and is typical taste of the Ythan Fiddlers style. Some of the tunes are our favourites representing fond memories of former members.

We have an excellent attendance to our practices and events from all sections of the membership, ensuring we provide top quality performances from our amateur ranks, we are extremely thankful for the valuable professional help from Trish Gill who every week puts the group through there paces.   Our Junior section consists of fiddlers from the age of eight. Who play under the enthusiastic leadership of Anouk

This CD started as a project to record the Ythan Fiddlers Waltz a tune written by Tom Anderson of Slains who emigrated to Canada and hosted the Fiddlers Canadian trip some 12 years ago. Tom wrote the tune to commemorate our visit it is now our signature tune.

The Junior section were invited to design the art work for this CD.  Well done to Faith Thomson (Pictured holding the CD above) who won the competition, her artwork will live on with the CD  “Let the Music Flow”
